Causes of Cataracts
While the exact cause of cataracts is unknown, some factors have been linked to their development. Age is the most common risk factor, as the risk of developing cataracts increases. Other risk factors include smoking, excessive exposure to sunlight, certain medications, and certain medical conditions such as diabetes.
Symptoms of Cataracts
The most common symptom of cataracts is blurred vision. Other symptoms may include double vision, difficulty seeing at night, and light sensitivity. Colors may also appear faded or yellowed, and light glare may be more pronounced. If you have any of these symptoms, you can consult one of our eye care specialists here at House of Optical.
